How to see sold items on eBay

eBay shows what a listing sold for, but the switch is easy to miss, it only reaches back about three months, and it now wants you signed in. Here is every way to get to sold items, on the website and in the app, and what to do when a list is not enough.

Why sold items, not active ones

An active listing shows what a seller is asking. A sold listing shows what a buyer paid. The two can be far apart, and only the second one tells you what something is worth on eBay today. Everything below is about getting to that second list.

On the eBay website

Search for the item as you normally would. Then, in the filter column on the left, scroll to Show only and tick Sold Items. The results reload with sold listings only, each with its price in green and the date it sold. On a narrow window the filters sit behind a Filter button at the top of the results instead.

Ticking Completed Items instead shows every listing that ended, sold or not. Unsold ones appear with the price struck through or in black. Sold Items is the one you want for prices; Completed Items is useful when you want to see how many listings failed to sell at a given price.

eBay now asks you to sign in before it shows sold results. A free buyer account is enough; you do not need to be a seller.

The sold-listings URL

The filter is just a parameter on the search address, so you can type it. Search for anything, then add &LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1 to the end of the address bar and press Enter. Bookmark the result and you have a sold search you can reopen any time. Changing the _nkw= part changes the keywords.

Advanced Search

The Advanced link beside the search button opens a form with every option in one place. Under Search including, tick Sold listings. The same form lets you restrict the search to a category, a price range, a condition, a location and, under Sellers, to one or more usernames, which is the way to see what a particular seller has sold.

In the eBay app

Search, then tap Filter at the top of the results. Scroll to Sold Items and switch it on, then tap Show results. The app shows the same sold list as the website, with the sold date under each price.

What eBay's sold list does not tell you

  • About 90 days. eBay's sold results reach back roughly three months. A sale from the spring is gone by autumn, so a seasonal item or a slow-moving collectible may show you only a handful of sales.
  • No totals. You get a list, not a count. "How many of these sold last month, and for how much in all?" means counting by hand.
  • No average. The list is sorted by date or price. Working out the typical price means adding them up yourself, and the outliers at both ends pull the result around.
  • Best Offer hides the number. A listing sold through Best Offer shows the asking price with "Best offer accepted" under it, not the amount the buyer actually paid.
  • Sellers, but no ranking. You can see who sold each item, but not who sells the most of it, or at what average price.

Our guide to reading eBay sold listings goes through the price details, and eBay seller lookup covers the seller side.

From a list to an answer

This is the gap research tools fill. Terapeak did it for years, until eBay folded it into Seller Hub and removed the totals. SoldPeak records completed eBay listings itself, so one search gives you the number sold, the total sales, the average and median price, the trend by day, week or month, the top sellers by name, the words in sold titles, the best day and hour to list, and every sold listing in a table you can export. The Free plan runs five searches a day over the last 30 days with no card, and Professional reaches back to July 2026 and keeps growing from there.

If you already know what you are checking, try a live search without an account. If you are looking for ideas, what sells best on eBay this week is public and updated every day.

Skip the scrolling

One search on SoldPeak returns the average and median sold price, total sold, the trend, the top sellers and every sold listing, from real completed eBay listings. Five searches a day free, no card and no eBay account needed.
